Article: Flashes of Memory: The Survivor Story of Irene Lewkowicz Shashar
Maggie Leone is a graduate of Oakland Catholic High School in her hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She is currently a junior studying journalism in the College of Communication at Boston University. As a result of a religion/history course titled “The Holocaust,” Maggie’s interest in the subject grew exponentially and she came in contact with survivor Irene Shashar, with whom she began a collaboration. The two hope to produce a memoir detailing Irene’s tragic history and they are excited to see what the future holds for both their project and their friendship.
